After earning a Ph.D. at Cornell University, serving as a tenured English professor at Louisiana State University, and graduating from Yale Law School, Edward ("Ted") Schweitzer worked for twelve years as a litigator at Shaw Pittman Potts & Trowbridge (now Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLC)and for ten years as a senior counsel in the Litigation and Administrative Practice in the Office of General Counsel at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C.
